Terry had the day off so we ventured out to the DuPage Children's Museum. We left at the crack of dawn to spend as much time there as possible before lunch.
With three hours of play time, we were able to hit every room and wear out Jack. Leaving was no problem. The three of us sat outside in the 85 degree weather had an enjoyable lunch. After such a rough start to the week, Jack has been a dream for the last few days. He has been eating well and has not had a tantrum in about 5 days.
On the way home we stopped at IKEA for some baby shopping. Jack looked exhausted but we pressed on. Somehow he got his second wind and was pushing his stroller all over the store and was being so funny.
Terry and I thought for sure he would sleep in the car but he was too geared up. At one point he said "Mommy, where's Jack?" I turned around and his car seat was completely covered in his blanket. This game of peek-a-boo lasted a long time.
By 6:30, Jack had had enough (so had mom and dad). Jack went to bed and Terry and I just sat with our feet up. We both agreed it was one of our favorite days with Jack. He is such a little man and a little character. It will be interesting to have a newborn in the house in a few weeks. Jack is definitely not a baby anymore.
