Apple Picking

Playing Catch Up
I thought that after school started things would slow down a little. No such luck. After one great week of school, Jack is now scared to go. He cries when I drop him off but comes running out of the school laughing when I pick him up.
After pushing him to go for a couple of days, I thought we could spend the day together on Friday.
Jack and I took the train downtown to my dad's office. I got my teeth cleaned and Jack played with my dad. We did a little shopping afterwards and then headed home. At one point Jack said that he was hungry. We stopped at Starbuck's for a muffin but he insisted on a banana. I did not believe that he would eat it but he did. It was nice to spend some alone time with him. I feel bad that he is nervous about going to school. He is still a little boy but I know this is the best for him. Plus I love all the pictures he draws "when I am crying". They are posted all over our kitchen.
The leaf was in his hand for about 5 hours. After carrying it to my dad's and back, he threw it on the front steps saying that he did not want it anymore. It was dirty.

Night, Night
After putting both of the boys to bed, I heard this high pitched chirp. I followed the noise upstairs to Matt's room and realized he had the worst sounding hiccups I had ever heard. Since he was asleep I just left. Next I hear Jack climbing in and out of his bed. I peeked in and saw him standing in the "trunk" of his car bed. He was digging through all the books, reading one and then getting out another. I came back a few times to watch him until he looked up and said "what?". I would love to watch the going to sleep process for Jack. We really never hear too much from him and he is always in some crazy position when we check on him. Last night's position took the cake. He was wrapped in his green blanket asleep on a bunch of books with his head on the bed side.

Jack's First Day!
Jack had his first day of school this afternoon. Terry and I really worried about it wondering if he would cry, hate it or refuse to go. I worried about myself. Anytime I thought about leaving him I would get teary eyed. Holding our breath, Terry and I drove Jack to school and the boy just jumped out of the car and the teacher took him inside. I had the hardest time taking pictures because it was over in the blink of an eye. After school, Terry asked how it was and all Jack could say was that he did not pee or poop at school. Job well done, Jack! I hope tomorrow goes just as smoothly!
