Strider

Matt got a new bike for his birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. He really likes it and is getting more and more comfortable with it everyday.

He Wrapped Me Like a Taco

Matt had his first emergency room visit on Thursday. He is completely fine now and back to normal but it was a terrifying day. Matt ran into a open door on the car. He not only split his head open but fell backwards and hit the back of his head too. And this all happened two inches from me! Matt was a trooper (Jack too) and went willingly to the hospital and did not mind getting stitches. Hopefully he will not mind getting them removed next week!
On the way home from the hospital, Terry asked Matt about the whole experience. He said he liked the doctor but he did not like that "he wrapped me like a taco". Thank goodness for Matt's sense of humor. It was exactly what his parents needed!

Potty Time

We have officially entered the world of potty training with Matt. Potty training is the worst and I really detest every moment of it. I don't understand the appeal of a diaper but both my boys LOVED their diapers.
Last week was trying but after a few days, Matt is now wearing underwear and letting me put him on the potty. This is a major accomplishment. We have also been able to leave the house for a few brief hours without a problem. Jack has been very supportive and loves to come home from school to see how many stickers Matt received. And of course, Matt loves the attention.
Here are a few embarrassing pics from our week...

Matt refused to wear underwear and at times, refused to get off the potty!

Boo!

Our two little pirates had a great Halloween. It began with a show provided by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Next, the kids made a mad dash to each house up and down nearby blocks. After awhile Matt decided to have a sucker and sit in the stroller. We found out later that he had bronchitis! Luckily it did not slow down our day.
PS to Dad - I could not get a picture with the boys together. :-(

Jack was so serious about his authenticity of his costume that he refused to wear clothes under it. It did not matter to him that it was a warm 45 degrees outside. We finally settled on rolling his pants and shirt.

Terry teased that Matt's falling hat looked like a pirate beret.
